Hello Athletes — esp Carole!
Our friend and Gravitas member, Brandon Slaugh, has offered his services to us after the Saturday Community Class! Brandon is a certified Chiropractor and will be offering adjustments for $20 (15 minutes) or $40 (30 minutes). He will begin this service next Saturday, Feb. 2. (Although, he will be there tomorrow to field any questions.) It will be first come, first serve, or you can email or text him to schedule a time slot: Brandon.slaugh@gmail.com | (801) 638-0461.
Please note, this is an informal meet/adjustment — any further consultations or detailed explanations of treatment will require an outside appointment at his office.
The intent is a quick fix of current pain(s) and ideally limited to one region, such as shoulder, low back, neck, not multiple. As it is more difficult to spread the treatment thin.

Payments are made at the time of adjustments with either cash, Zelle or Venmo.

NOTE:  There are some Saturdays he won’t be available, including possibly the last week of April and first week of May.

Here’s some more information from Brandon …

To members at Gravitas Fitness,

My name is Dr. Brandon Slaugh and the purpose of this letter is to introduce myself and give a short background.

I grew up a swimmer in Murray, Utah and have always been passionate about sports.  I played water polo at the University of Utah and transitioned to triathlon after that.  I studied civil engineering at the University of Utah and during focused mostly on water resource engineering and waste water engineering. After graduation, I started working with a chiropractor that used a lot of soft tissue manipulation and chiropractic manipulation and saw how much it helped people.  The soft tissue manipulation helped me keep doing what I wanted to do and I decided to change careers and go into chiropractic care.

I went to chiropractic school in Southern California.  I graduated in December 2016 with a doctor of chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences.  While attending school in Southern California, I used my free time cycling, learning Olympic lifting, and learning power lifting. After graduation, I joined a CrossFit gym in Irvine.  While working in Irvine, I was a member of at Corepower Yoga and a member at CrossFit Insanity in Irvine, California. I was a member in each until moving to Santa Barbara.  I really enjoy the community in each sport and intend to stay involved with as many recreational activities as possible. I am currently a member at Gravitas Fitness and Santa Barbara Masters Swim Club. I have been doing CrossFit for about a year and a half now.

I enjoy treating all patient populations, but am most passionate about sports medicine. Depending on the diagnosis and the patient, I typically incorporate soft tissue manipulation, spinal manipulation, and rehabilitation exercises with each patient. I know some patients do not like being adjusted, (cracked), and I am still able to help patients without adjusting.  My favorite part about treating is helping people get out of pain and getting back to what they want to do.   I have had shoulder pain, low back pain, knee pain, and neck pain from recreational sports.  For me, working out is very therapeutic and it’s very important to me that I am able to keep training.  I want to help people stay moving and doing what makes them happy.

Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions and thank you for your time, Dr. Brandon Slaugh
